With the dental implant implant industry is dominated by a handful of large multinational corporations, it can be challenging for newcomers to compete. In a dog-eat-dog industry, Ivan feels this would be a fun way to stir up some friendly competition.
While sumo wrestling is a rather unconventional method of competition, the ninja is up for the challenge. He proclaims:
“I hereby officially challenge: Guillaume Daniellot (Straumann and Neodent), Gerald Niznick (Founder of Implant Direct), Amir Aghdaei (CEO/Implant Direct and Nobel Biocare), and Steve Boggann (Biohorizons) to a Sumo suit cage match at next years AO meeting. Whose in?”
He adds, with a chuckle, “I’ll be gentle on those guys…except with Gerry.”
By offering a subscription model for dentists, a new start-up by the name of Implant Club might disrupt an industry that has been sitting comfortably for a number of decades.
