RALEIGH, NC, April 28, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — Each year, CAHEC reflects on the impact we achieved over the past 12 months through collaboration with our partners to strengthen the communities we serve. In 2025, we advanced this mission by expanding our syndication portfolio with the addition of 39 properties across seven states. This growth represents approximately 1,650 affordable housing units providing safe, stable homes for an estimated 4,694 residents.
Dana Boole, CAHEC’s President and CEO, emphasized the organization’s work, stating, “A sincere thanks to all stakeholders who have been an integral cog in our journey. Your unwavering partnership has allowed CAHEC and affiliates the opportunity to make a material impact on those we serve. To that end, this report summarizes CAHEC’s accomplishments in 2025. I hope you find it informative and impactful.”
2025 Highlights:
• Community Investments: CAHEC invested $374,100 to enhance residents’ quality of life through educational and wellness initiatives. This includes funding for 85,000 meals for families and 300 summer camp scholarships for low-income youth.
• New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Impact: The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s CDFI Fund awarded CAHEC New Markets $75 million in New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) allocation authority under the CY 2024–2025 allocation round. This funding will support high-impact community facilities throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic in economically distressed areas, helping communities stabilize, grow, and thrive. These investments are expected to create jobs while expanding access to education, healthcare, and essential goods and services in underserved regions.
• Partners Conference: More than 600 attendees from 32 states and Washington, D.C., gathered in Raleigh in June for the 22nd annual CAHEC Partners Conference, underscoring the strength and reach of our network.
Since our founding, CAHEC has played a key role in the development and preservation of 923 rental properties across 13 states, resulting in more than 43,000 affordable housing units. Beyond housing, we have raised and distributed over $19 million to support community initiatives that empower low-income residents and foster long-term stability.
