The firm is offering $2,500 to a winning student beginning in 2023.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, February 23, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Civil rights movements have brought minority parties’ rights forward by leaps and bounds in the past several decades. There is still more work to be done, though, and far more stigma to combat.

It is courtesy of Winston Law’s own familiarity with the stigma less privileged parties can face within the justice system that the firm moves to add another tool to the fight against it. Beginning in 2023, Winston Law intends to offer $2,500 in financial support to students thinking critically about social stigma and its impact on the justice system.

Applicants for the debuting End to Stigma Within the Justice System Scholarship are expected to submit essays of at least 1,000 words critically examining the way stigma and prejudice influence the justice system. Winston Law also encourages students to pull on their own experiences with stigma while composing their essays.

Most importantly, Winston Law wants its applicants to propose ways in which lawyers, judges, and other applicable legal bodies can rise above the stigmas that might minimize the efficiency of a legal body. Students are expected to include strong sources in their essays to emphasize their examination of the subject.

Interested applicants have until June 15, 2023, to submit their essays to Winston Law. Students should also submit:

– An unofficial transcript as proof of a 3.0 GPA or higher
– Proof of U.S. citizenship or the applicant’s right to work/attend school in the United States
– Proof of enrollment at an accredited college, university, or graduate school

Winston Law and its scholarship selection committee reserve the right to take up to three months from the scholarship’s closing date to select a scholarship recipient. The recipient will receive word of their award and be celebrated on the firm’s website.

Bradley Winston and his team of experienced personal injury attorneys have seen firsthand the effect that stigma can have on the pursuit of justice. The team hopes that by encouraging the next generation to address and unravel stigma, those students can further the progress already made to reduce misconduct in the justice system.

Winston Law wishes each student applying for the End to Stigma Within the Justice System Scholarship the best of luck. The team looks forward to reading students’ thoughtful essays and helping the scholarship’s winner pursue their academic ambitions.
