Dayton, OH, February 06, 2018 –(PR.com)– Today, Proficient Information Technologies, Inc. (PI-Tech), a Dayton, OH, company, announced it has been awarded the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) certification by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The program, passed into law as part of the Small Business Reauthorization Act of 1997, was established to provide qualified small businesses in historically underutilized business zones with assistance when pursuing federal contracts.
“PI-Tech is thrilled to be selected as a HUBZone certified business,” says Tina Bustillo, CEO & Owner of PI-Tech. “With over two decades of IT consulting experience with Federal, State, and Local contracting, this designation better positions us to provide valuable technology solutions on a Federal level, expand our business, and increase our commitment to promoting local economic and employment growth.”
PI-Tech, with over 23 years of IT consulting and contracting experience, specializes in providing an array of technology solutions including Application Design, Development, and Management; IT Telecommunications and Provisioning; Web Application Development and Management; Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) Solutions; and IT Infrastructure Support to government, private, and commercial businesses.
To achieve HUBZone Certification, PI-Tech had to meet a range of criteria that included its principal office being located in a Federally-mapped HUBZone area and 35% or more of its employees residing within HUBZone regions. PI-Tech also had to submit to a comprehensive application process that confirmed these and other stringent requirements as set forth by the program.
As part of this and other SBA contracting programs, Federal agencies strive to maintain 3% of all annual contracts as set-asides for certified small business, which provides PI-Tech, as HUBZone certified, with increased opportunity when pursuing specified Federal IT contracts.
